Intermittent Cardiac Arrhythmias and ECG Beam Event Monitors

Intermittent cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat) can be a major challenge for a GP to diagnose. Patients can be asymptomatic in the surgery and have normal ECG readings. You may need 24 hours or more to capture symptomatic episodes. Obviously this is not possible within the surgery setting.

However the Beam Event Monitor has proven to be an effective diagnostic tool for detecting arrhythmias by providing a means to monitor patients over an extended period of time.

Like a 24 hour BP monitor, the patient can take the monitor home. When they feel symptoms all they have to do is place the monitor onto their chest and press the start button. Once they return to the surgery, the results can be downloaded and a diagnosis made.

This vital diagnostic tool is now available to purchase from Promed for €660 ex VAT. For more information please contact an account manager or click here

The Beam ECG is Cat No 69637, and the Bluetooth USB is Cat No 69638. Both parts must be purchased in order for the unit to function. The total for both items comes to €660 ex VAT.
